The Goal: (the vision)
B. Keith Chadwell
Christ in you, the hope of Glory”; perfection in Christ or Christ perfected
and manifest in us. Sons of God, perfected, ready to glorify God in
the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. These, having their
obedience fulfilled, ready to serve His Majesty, the King and revenge all
(heaven and earth will be shaken) disobedience at His direction only, even
as it is written.
These will be; A “remnant” of the church, “Sons of God” without need of
further rebuke or correction. Romans; chapter eight, Jude, Joel, Habakkuk,
Zephaniah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and many others gives us a glimpse
of these “Sons of God” that are to be manifest…or rather have Christ appear
or manifest Himself in them and glorify God, once again, in the earth as Jesus did before.
However, mature Sons of God are made, they are not born, and the “making” is
ONLY the work of God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit… “His strange work ”.
Isa 28:21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act .
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
Heb 12:5-8 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he
chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
These Sons of God will have followed the pattern Son, Jesus and they, like
Him, will have learned obedience through the things they have suffered.
The suffering that comes from submitting to the cross the things which are
of the flesh and only through this suffering, as they willingly submit to the
work of the Holy Spirit in them, can they receive the rewards of entering into
the service and complete dominion of His Majesty, the King, as “Manifest Sons of
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Paul understood and taught that righteousness was first by faith but was to be followed, in time, if pursued correctly, to manifest perfection and maturity in Christ.
Pro 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth
the law, happy is he.
God’s plan is that this perfection would be manifest to the world from servants with totally cleansed hearts. Yet, even Paul did not claim to have attained to that goal but he knew, by faith, this goal for believers was possible through Christ working in him and he pressed toward that goal.
Phillipians 3:12-16 (Phillips) Yet, my brothers, I do not consider myself to have "arrived", spiritually, nor do I consider myself already perfect. But I keep going on, grasping ever more firmly that purpose for which Christ grasped me.
My brothers, I do not consider myself to have fully grasped it even now.
But I do concentrate on this: I leave the past behind and with hands outstretched to whatever lies ahead I go straight for the goal - my reward
the honour of being called by God in Christ.
All of us who are spiritually adult should set ourselves this sort of ambition, and if at present you cannot see this, yet you will find that this is the attitude which God is leading you to adopt. It is important that we go forward in the light of such truth as we have ourselves attained to.
It is God's goal that we go on, beyond the elementary doctrines of Christ, to
perfection in Christ, in this earth. Then, Him showing forth His righteousness from within our hearts to a dark and dying world and thereby allowing Christ in us to, in fact, be the manifestation of God's wisdom, power and love to the world, through us.
Creation is waiting for this, full, manifestation of the Sons of God. It is the hope of our calling in Christ, the hope of glorifying the Father again, in the earth, even as Christ did.
Eph 1:17-19 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may
give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power...
